I am an Americorps veteran. I volunteere...Fear not! I am an Americorps veteran. I volunteered when I was 22. The pledge that I took as an Americorps volunteer is VERBATIM the pledge that members of the Armed Forces take. So for 12 months, I was not allowed to protest, distribute religious pamphlets. Since then I have protested & waxed poetic on my views on religion. <br />It was an amazing & humbling experience to spend my days fully focused on the needs of others. <br />If you fear the cost of the program: I was given a living stipened for 12 months--a whopping total of $8,000.<br />You fear that there is no room for God in this organization--you forget that God's work isn't done by God.
